Licence and updates

Buy, renew, add your licence code and get updates.

Voltwren is licensed for one Shopify store per year. The theme works fully without a code; the code confirms your licence, keeps updates and support active and removes the reminder in the theme editor.

  1. Find your store's myshopify.com address in Shopify admin under Settings › Domains. It looks like your-store.myshopify.com.
  2. Sign in to your licence page with your licence key (sign in to your account with the email you paid with to see it), enter that address and choose Get code.
  3. In Shopify admin open Online Store › Themes › Customize › Theme settings › Licence, paste the code and save.

To keep the code when you install a new version, add it instead under Content › Metaobjects as a velosolabs_licence entry with the handle voltwren and a code field. The code works only on that store and stays valid for 14 days after your licence period ends; after you renew, get a new code from the same page.

Licence check (from Voltwren 1.4.0)

The theme checks its licence with Veloso Labs at most once every 7 days in each browser, and each time you open the theme editor. The check sends the theme version, your store's myshopify.com address and the code, nothing about your customers or orders. If the licence was refunded or revoked, or the code is used on a store it wasn't issued for, the theme editor says the code no longer works, and updates and support stop. If our servers can't be reached, nothing changes. A licence covers one store.

Buying, renewing and refunds

  • Price: US$99 a year for one store, with updates and support included. Pay with PayPal or a card through PayPal on the Voltwren page.
  • After paying: create your account or sign in with the same email address as your PayPal account. Your licence key is listed there, and your licence page has the download and your store's code.
  • Renewal: the licence renews automatically each year through PayPal. To stop it, choose Cancel renewal in your licence portal (or cancel the subscription in PayPal under Settings › Payments › Automatic payments); the theme keeps working, and updates and support end with the paid year. If a renewal payment fails, the licence stays active for 7 days while PayPal tries the payment again.
  • Refunds: within 14 days of a payment, write to us through the form on the Voltwren page. The payment is refunded in full through PayPal and the subscription is cancelled, so it doesn't renew. A refunded licence stops working for updates, support and the licence code.
