Research, DOI / ISBN and citations
Ground posts in academic databases and web search, and review papers or books by identifier.
Paid feature. Research and DOI / ISBN review are part of the paid plans, which are coming soon.
Research and web search
In Settings › Research & web search, tick Enable search. Posts can then be enriched with sources from:
- Keyless databases: Crossref, Semantic Scholar, OpenAlex and arXiv. Add a contact email for Crossref and OpenAlex's polite pool.
- Scopus and Google web search through SerpApi, with your own keys.
- Google Programmable Search as an alternative to SerpApi (100 free queries a day).
Tick Enrich with research / web search on the Generate page or in the editor panel to use it for a post. Scheduled posts follow your settings.
DOI / ISBN review mode
Paste a DOI (for a paper) or an ISBN (for a book) instead of a subject. Bylinely fetches the document's details and writes a structured review post that cites it.
Citations
When a post uses sources, choose how they show in Settings › Content › Citations: inline [n] markers, a references section, and a hover card with the verbatim source and a link. Citations are formatted in APA 7. Markers are colour-coded by source type (verified DOI, web or unlinked). Citations are powered by Corroborly.
